Founded in Mexico,Tlaxcalli is a tortillas chips company that celebrates the rich heritage of the region. The owner prides himself as a descendant of the once great Aztec people. The name, Tlaxcalli, is a nod to this origin.

Tlaxcalli is the Aztec word for "tortillas" or "corn bread". As such, I knew I wanted the design to be representative of the owner's heritage, so I started the design process by doing some research on the Aztecs. I collected images and created a moodboard. For the color palette, my research showed that turquoise was one of the most important colors in Aztec culture and is found on many prominent Aztec pieces. I decided turquoise would be the main color and red and orange would be used as accents. Through my research, I also noticed that triangles were also used in Aztec art wanted to include triangles in some way in the design.
